Pirate ring represents my dad’s wedding band that he no longer has. This was a 24 carat gold ring that he had managed to hide from the pirates during our encounter with them on the South China Seas. Once we were spared and our fishing boat had managed to moored, he sold it for pen and paper to write a letter back to my aunty in Saigon to let her and my grand father know that we were finally safe. The un-refined appearance of this ring signifies a humble and sometimes taxing past but a sense of grace is still maintained.
22ct yellow gold / 925 sterling silver.
