Dat had lived in Sydney and studied Jewellery and Object Design at Enmore Design Centre in 2011. Prior to this, he studied Graphic Design and Photography before accidentally becoming a restaurateur for fifteen years. (This is another story).

He had been a resident jeweller at Sydney’s SquarePeg Studios for a number of years before other adventures brought him back to Melbourne.
Over the last ten years, Dat had counted himself very fortunate to be able to explore many countries cities, documenting the vibrancy of cultures and capturing moments of their daily lives.

His inspirations comes from traversing the streets, temples and parks of Japan finding beauty in the details and through the seasons. Dat’s pieces sometimes reflects the vibrant, fun and cute nature of the Harajuku scene and other times pares it right back to the textural and minimal aesthetics of wabi Sabi.
